Welcome to my world of Small Ideas!

I have always been a crafty person and have pretty much had a go at everything. I always had a love for Dolls Houses and their small world.

With two grown daughter's and no longer working, I now have the time to commit to my favourite past-time - making and creating Dolls Houses and Room Boxes.
I get totally absorved in my small world creating tiny objects for the rooms. I am often told I am not on this planet when I am thinking of creating something new! I hope you enjoy my Blog as much as I will enjoy sharing my Small Ideas with you...

Monday Mini-Link Party #8

Hi all! Welcome to another week and a new Mini Link Party! We had 328 views last week. Regular linkees JS Miniatures, Megans Minis and Anne from Little Things joined in along with newbie blogger Annette, from New Beginnings.

I set myself a goal this morning to create my setting for the MinisModernas competition - I am pleased to report I did it! As soon as they load it onto their blog, I will upload it on here too.

Jazzi's Mini Link Party is to increase awareness of Miniaturists talents and craft work. Many of us are trying to make a living out of our love for miniatures and a helping hand in marketing our crafts is always a bonus.
It commences every Monday Morning (Australian Eastern Standard Time) and closes at Midnight the following Friday.

So, what is a Link Party? It is a great way to show-off your work, drive more followers to your blog or website, promote a giveaway or your Etsy shop.

How do you join in this link party?

  1. You must only make mini's! (all scales welcome)
  2. Upload a picture of your own work below. Add a caption and the url (website address it will link to).
  3. Copy and paste the Jazzi Mini Link Party to your blog sidebar to let followers know you have joined in. (Don't forget to copy the url from the address bar to link back to this page).
Every weekend I feature a weekly roundup of the Mini Link Party Stats and select a link as a guest spot on my page.
Welcome to new links and of course welcome back regular links!

Weekly Wrap-Up

We have a new family member....the baby roo (joey) came to visit just now with it's mum and the mob (8 of them in our yard)!
It has been an interesting week of mini's. I helped a friend Annette get her own blog going (although apparently if it doesn't work its all my fault lol!). Annette set up her blog Beginnings, put a link on my Monday Mini-Link Party, added some photos and even managed to add another page. Then she lost it! Determined to have a blog, Annette made another blog New Beginnings and now has to decide which one she wants to keep and promote! When you lose your blog, it is often as simple as a typo in the address bar. I have heard of some blogs disappearing into the land of lost blogs (wherever that is).
I made my Christmas in July swap for Heather and got it in the post Wednesday afternoon. I had fun making gifts for her out of recycled and found items. 5 other's in the Swap have also completed theirs and posted to their partners.
After finally getting some mini action of my own going with the 2 modern settings, it was wonderful to get so many positive comments! I was quite chuffed to see 2 non-miniaturist's also commented. I follow Cindy Adkins blog Whimsical Musings it is well worth your while checking it out (she has help topics about blogs). Cindy is also an author of ebooks and was just featured in a new publication Mixed Media Art: Living Your Passion #1 on Bestseller's List for Mixed Media on Amazon.
The 2nd person to comment was The Redhead Riter. She has a blog with a plethora of topics and more on blog tips. I find The Redhead Riter's style very similar to my own, and I guess because I am also a redhead, I feel we are on the same page!
I nominated myself to enter MinisModernas competition which closes this week - argh! I just haven't found the right inspiration to make a setting for it. So, this afternoon I will narrow down my ideas and starting tomorrow morning am determined to get my entry in by Wednesday.
See you all tomorrow for the Mini Link Party! Cheers, Jazzi xx

Scene My Settings?

Pardon the title...I got all inspired last night with setting ideas then come to putting them together today and me and the camera just don't mix! Anyhoo...here goes.

Around the Office
This setting come from an idea of using a magazine picture as a backdrop via Mini Aesthetics blog. Getting the right picture on the correct angle is a hard thing to find! I fooled PP so that was a plus *smile*.
The green bubble chair was an eBay find. I made my own version of the marshmallow sofa. Buddha and ball ornaments are gifts from My Mini Mod Pod. I made the black side tables, cushions, rug and magazine rack. Floor is a vinyl tile.

Citrus in Africa
I had never thought of making false walls like this apricot one until I saw a magazine idea. I used colored card stock and very neatly folded it around a box the right size for stability.
The African Masks are earrings I picked up for $1 at a Sunday Market. The table I made ages ago but had never used it in a setting before. It is a cane coaster atop 2 cross sections of wood painted black. The chairs I purchased as a pair from a Miniature shop here in Victoria. The clock is a laser cut purchase from a Scrap-booking shop.
I have scattered glass crystals on the table. A clear glass is filled with beads to imitate lemons, limes and oranges. The drinks are 2 plastic wine glasses topped with yellow push pin heads and rock salt. The hanging light is battery operated purchased from eBay.
The black acrylic table is an eBay find as is the little silver handbag charm. The vase is from a pen and the sticks are incense. The old photo was from a $1 Grab Bag from Miniature Designs. The boots actually belong to a Polly Pocket but the size fitted in with the scene. The floor is vinyl tile from our local hardware store.
This picture is to designed to show the soft downlights for a night time setting. The lights are Led earrings from eBay.
Time they both took - too bloody long!

Weekly Wrap-Up

Hi everyone...bit quiet on the mini front this week...loads of study and a painful right arm hasn't helped. I don't think separating my blog pages helped with the link party this week as we only had 104 views (sad face), so will go back to my normal posting layout.

This week I want to feature Linda's Mini's. Linda makes a variety of mini's and has an Etsy shop and Facebook page. Linda is currently on a road trip but is keeping us up to date on her blog with visits to some great mini shops and lots of goodies! Thanks for the road diaries Linda!

A Mid Century Modern Obsession has just announced a mini challenge. Curbly have released 100 free art images to download and the challenge is to use one of the artworks in a setting.

My craft studio has become a bit unorganised already eek! So have spent the weekend tidying up and doing some sorting. I purchased some clear shoe storage boxes which has helped as I don't have to open them to see what's inside! I have seriously collected far too much mini stuff already so I think a Giveaway will be announced in the next few days.
Wishing you all a great week and lots of creativity! Jazzi xx
